Two skaters on Mirror Lake

About

Mirror Lake, in the middle of the village, is action-packed on a winter day — dog sleds cruise the snow-covered ice, pond hockey games fill the air with cheers, cross-country skiers and snowshoers explore the lake, and recreational skaters take advantage of cleared rinks near the town beach.

Once ice forms to a safe thickness, the lake is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How to get there

You can park in a municipal lot or roadside wherever legal in Lake Placid. The best way to access the skating on the Mirror Lake is by walking to where the toboggan chute and beach is, on Parkside Drive.
