Community Cold Read of Uncle Vanya

Ahead of the screening of National Theatre Live’s one-man Vanya captured on the West End, join us for a community reading of the play Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov!

No rehearsal and no experience necessary! Join us for this fun opportunity to bring a character to life when we read the play aloud, or sit back and listen while your friends and neighbors explore Chekhov’s heartbreaking comedy full of ennui, dysfunctional family dynamics, and unrequited love.

8 adult roles available. A digital copy of the script is available at the link below – it is not necessary to read the script in advance.

What’s a Cold Read?

Typically, a cold read is when an actor is asked to perform a script with little-to-no preparation. Sometimes used in the audition process, a cold read calls upon the actor’s spontaneity and ability to grasp material swiftly. However, LPCA’s Cold Reads are casual, pressure-free and open to all!
