The Lake Placid Marathon and Half event company is proud to announce a new event:

The MayDay 10k presented by the UPS Store

This off-road race will take place on the Adirondack Rail Trail on Sunday evening- May 4, 2025 starting and finishing at Bike Lake Placid.

Race featuring a fundraising component benefiting the Adk Rail Trail Association and the Tri Lakes Humane Society.

Partnering with the MayDay 10K and 5K-9 events are Voco Saranac Lake, High Peaks Resort, Bike Lake Placid, Mirror Lake Boat Rental, LocalADK Magazine, YOUR CBD Store SunMed Lake Placid, The Pickled Pig, Lake Placid Pub and Brewery, The Devlin Lake Placid, Man and Beast and the UPS Store in Lake Placid, all pet-friendly local businesses- offering discounts, goodies and more.

Runners will receive a race shirt, discounts/gifts from sponsors, a post race celebration including food, music, fun and awards.  A special appearance by North Country Drone Search and Recovery will be a highlight of the post race festivies along with an appearance by the Good Guy Productions mechanical bull. Food from the Pickled Pig, Waffle Cabin and beer from the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery will be available to racers. Special dog goodies will be provided to your best friend. Spectators may purchase food and drink while registered runners will find this as a treat included in their race fee. Youth under 21 receive a discounted entry and people who run with their dog get free dog entry (but leash handlers have to pay !) Stroller entries are a single entry as well.

To focus on sustainability, the aid station will feature a cupless water supply to reduce trash. Runners are encouraged to Make Haste…Leave No Trace. All will be asked to stay to the right to allow other non-racing users of the Rail Trail to enjoy the venue at the same time the race is going on and announce their presence as they overtake non-racing trail-goers.

The Lake Placid Marathon and Half is celebrating it’s 20th year in 2025 with a 10k, half marathon and full marathon on June 8. Other events are in the planning stages and hope to provide a fun weekend of activities in a normally slow early June time period.
