Airports near Lake Placid
Lake Placid is approximately a two-hour drive from the international airports in Albany, NY (ALB), Burlington, VT (BTV), and Montreal, QC (YUL). Car rental services are available at all three airports.
There is nonstop service via Cape Air from Boston's Logan Airport (BOS) to Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) in neighboring Saranac Lake. There, you can arrange for a car service pick-up, taxi, or car rental. The flight from Boston to Saranac Lake takes approximately 90 minutes and is a 20-minute drive to Lake Placid.
Lake Placid Airport (LKP) is located minutes from town and accommodates small private or corporate aircraft. In addition to providing scenic flights, they offer chartered travel.
Beginning May 1, 2025, Plattsburgh International Airport will offer service between Plattsburgh, NY, and Washington-Dulles via Contour Airlines. Round-trip, nonstop flights will be available daily. You can easily access Lake Placid from Plattsburgh by car, bus, or train.
