Martin Sexton
Martin Sexton is a widely recognized American singer-songwriter and music producer who grew up in New York. Sexton got his first guitar at the age of fourteen and has been hooked since. Martin Sexton tours with what Rolling Stone calls his “soul-marinated voice,” acoustic guitar, and a suitcase full of heartfelt songs.
High on the Hog on The North Country Stage
From the heart of the Adirondacks, High on the Hog was born of southern Appalachian fiddle tunes, classic country-western songs and ballads, and homemade Adirondack folk songs. Bill Chamberlain, Tyler Dezago, and Marion Hoelzel bring forth strong driving melodies on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and heart wrenching stories of love and loss in their songs learned from traditional and modern sources.
Gibson Brothers
While they’re widely recognized as vanguards of today’s Bluegrass scene, The Gibson Brothers’ dynamic show doesn’t limit itself to quick-pickin’ traditionalism. Instead, brothers Eric and Leigh charm audiences with their brother-banter, ringing harmonies and a stunning sampling of other favorite American musical styles including Gospel, Classic Country, Folk, and Singer Songwriter traditions. While their obvious versatility as musicians, lovable charisma, and prowess as entertainers has garnered them a place at the helm of the Traditional Music scene, it’s their back-porch ease and All-American authenticity that makes any audience feel like old friends.
The Split Rock Ramblers on The North Country Stage
The Split Rock Ramblers are a product of a lively jam session that has nourished pickers of the greater Saranac Lake area for over 14 years. Born out of bluegrass traditions with a deep love of old songs, this particular jam session also welcomes songs of all shapes and sizes. The Ramblers repertoire wanders through country, pop, rock and soul alongside old-time favorites, always with a passion for what feels right.
The Legendary Ingramettes
Richmond’s “First Family of Gospel” has been uplifting audiences for over six decades while becoming beloved cultural icons in the community. Together, the Ingramettes continue to bring the spirit of a Sunday morning service to the stage, enthralling audiences at such prestigious venues as the Kennedy Center, National Folk Festival, and countless others across the United States.
“It’s soul-stirring, life-changing music with a message that crosses the aisle to bring a smile to your face.” – Grant Britt, No Depression
This engagement of The Legendary Ingramettes is made possible in part through the Mid Atlantic Tours program of Mid Atlantic Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Blessid Dirt on The North Country Stage
Heavy Folk, Americana, and Some Wicked Good Guitar Pickin’. Singer-songwriters Tereson Dupuy and Eric Pasternak make up this beautiful, Adirondack grown acoustic duo whose original music is ripe with life experiences most can relate to. Classified as heavy-folk, they have been influenced by greats such as John Prine and Led Zepplin alike. Eric, a native New Yorker, dazzles listeners with some wicked finger picking and brilliant lyrical balance, while Tereson, a transplant from New Orleans, adds a bit of soulful Southern charm making this duo something to be experienced.
Dailey & Vincent
Performing the very best of American Music (traditional Country, Bluegrass, and Gospel) on stages such as Carnegie Hall and the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry stars and multi-award winners Dailey & Vincent are backed by one of the best bands on tour today, and generally regarded among the most reputable and elite entertainers in American music. Their sound is a concoction of traditional country, gospel, and bluegrass blended together by the fantastically instinctive vocal blends of Daily’s tenor and Vincent’s reedy harmonies.
“The best of Bluegrass, Country and Gospel this side of Heaven” – Nancy Dunham, USA Today/Washington Times
Crackin’ Foxy on The North Country Stage
Crackin’ Foxy has been kicking around the North Country for over a decade. Their musical direction still focuses on vintage jazz from the 1920s–1940s, but this year they’re excited to present a new line-up that includes a full brass section. Crackin’ Foxy hopes to delight their audience with some new material including traditional New Orleans-style jazz, plus a few quirky covers of modern tunes.
Dancing is not required, but always encouraged.
Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience
Grammy-winner Terrance Simien takes his audiences on a multicultural tour of the world inspired by the many countries he’s visited on tour which have informed his musical language. He creates a hypnotic blend of New Orleans funk-reggae-flavored-world-blues-American zydeco roots music that beckons you to your feet and into the groove. Leading his Zydeco Experience band, Simien has become one of the most respected and accomplished artists in American roots music today.
