Representing the Hockey East Conference, the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Providence College will face off against ECAC Hockey schools St. Lawrence and Clarkson, with each team playing two games over Thanksgiving Weekend for a shot at the Adirondack Winter Invitational trophy. All games will be held in the historic Herb Brooks Arena, the iconic venue of the Miracle on Ice game during the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The tournament winner will be determined through an overall points system.

Tournament History

Situated amid the early portion of the teams’ conference schedules, the Adirondack Winter Invitational features non-conference matchups and provide teams with a chance to compete on neutral ground as they prepare for the second half of the season.

The inaugural Adirondack Invitational in 2023 drew thousands of spectators as Arizona State skated away with the title after edging Cornell in a shootout in the championship game. Clarkson finished third after beating UMass Amherst 5-4 in overtime in the consolation final.
