Roamers Café & Bar at the Olympic Center

  • 2634 Main Street, Lake Placid

“You have to be uncommon,” said Herb Brooks, head coach of the 1980 U.S. Hockey Team.

Though he wasn’t talking about food, he could well have been talking about Roamers, the new café and bar in the Olympic Center’s Miracle Plaza. Named for the independent New York Rangers ice hockey farm team that called Lake Placid home from 1946 to 1952, there’s nothing regular about Roamers.

The Café & Bar is located in an expansive new space with a sleek and contemporary vibe, steps away from two historic ice arenas and overlooking a third. Here, you’ll find casual, lip-smacking-good food and drinks served alongside eye-popping, panoramic views of the Olympic Village and the Adirondacks highest peaks.

The Menu is casual and meant to satisfy, with both locally and internationally inspired menu selections. Take it to go, or dine in and savor a good wine or cocktail too. The totality of the experience is pleasing in every way you could expect from a simple bite to eat.

Coach Brooks also said, “Great moments are born from great opportunities,” and this is one opportunity to add a few great moments to life you just have to discover for yourself.
