We at High Peaks Cyclery and Basecamp Lodging are experts at helping people enjoy Lake Placid and all it has to offer as well as getting people outdoors in the Adirondacks! We have a great location—right in the heart of the Olympic Village, within walking distance of the Main Street shops and restaurants, the Olympic arena, skating oval, Mirror Lake beach, playground and tennis courts and near our great Outdoor Gear Store and Guide Service. Our lodging is the perfect place for families, groups, and teams. Book now to plan family fun, events, exercise, adventure or training, and “feel like a local.” Included with your stay is use of a Rock Climbing Gym and Yoga Studio.

High Peaks Cyclery (HPC) is a comprehensive multisport outdoor gear store and High Peaks Mountain Guide Service located on the property. Our renters have opportunities to rent gear (bikes, canoes and kayaks, skis and snowshoes), go on a guided trips, and have access to purchase great outdoor clothing, gear, and trip planning information and maps from our expert staff and guides. 

We have 3 vacation rentals next to HPC --the High Peaks House, Basecamp Lodge and Guide House  And across town is our newest rental—High Peaks Lake House on Lake Placid lake—which is perfect for water, hiking and fishing adventures with a possible pontoon boat rental in summer weeks. All houses have use of our indoor Rock Climbing Gym and High Peaks Yoga Studio, and experts guide staff at our High Peaks Cyclery store and include the following amenities: free WiFi, Roku TV, a microwave, dishwasher, oven/stove, large refrigerator, and well stocked kitchen, bbq grill, and mountain views. We also can offer a garage wax room and bike storage for skiers and bikers.

NOTE TO GROUPS: We are able to house up to 30 people between all 3 houses at HPC (with 10 bedrooms and 5 baths total, and 2 seasonal outdoor showers)—great for larger groups and teams.

 

Our High Peaks House is the largest of our 3 houses next to the High Peaks Cyclery. It has 2 stories, 4 bedrooms, and 6 bunk beds and it sleeps up to 12. Three of the bedrooms have 1 bunk bed with doubles on the bottom and singles above, while the fourth bedroom serves as the larger 'bunk room' with 3 bunk beds. The house has 2 full baths, a large gear room including laundry facilities, a spacious kitchen, bar and living area, a space for gear storage as well as a garage for ski waxing and bicycle storage, and shares a large deck, BBQ grill and mountain views with our Guide House. Base rates: between $250-550/night depending on season and days of visit (midweek/weekend).

Our Basecamp Lodge is a first floor large apartment with 3 roomy bedrooms sleeping up to 10 people, with 2 bunks in the first and second room and 1 bunk in the third bedroom. All 3 bedrooms are located off of the large living room and kitchen area with a beautiful wooden table for meals and games. The house has 2 full baths and laundry facilities, and a private deck with a BBQ grill, and mountain views. Base rates: between $250-500/night depending on season and days of visit (midweek/weekend).

Our Guide House is apartment style, upstairs from our Guide Service and fishing store with 3 bedrooms sleeping up to 10 people. Each bedroom has comfy bunk beds with doubles on the bottom and singles above. The Guide House hosts a full kitchen, a large dining area, a living room—all with beautiful pine paneling, and a large bathroom. Base rates: between $200-450/night depending on season and days of visit (midweek/weekend).  

Our High Peaks Lake House is a rare find—in town yet on Lake Placid lake and near local town hiking trails. Renters enjoy private lake frontage and mountain views, a dock and may arrange for canoe, kayak or paddleboard use at no extra charge. There are 4 bedrooms, and 2 full baths, 2 spacious living rooms and a large open kitchen and dining area. And the back of the house enters into a walk-in basement for all your ADK outdoor gear storage needs. The Lake House has a big backyard with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit with boat rentals / space as well as fishing gear and guides available to rent.  Base rates: between $500-$800/ night in Summer, and less in Fall, Winter and Spring seasons.
