Come see the bling in the Adirondacks' most award-winning and prettiest towns.
Award Winning Adirondack Hotels and Restaurants
The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa
The inn, the spa, the family. All are exceptional. The Weibrecht family has owned and operated the Mirror Lake Inn for years. The resort and spa has won the most prestigious awards available including: "The Best Hotel in NY State" in 2018 and 2019 from Condé Nast Traveler, USA Today's Readers Choice Awards for "#1 Lakefront Hotel in the U.S" and "Worlds Best Hotels" by Travel and Leisure Magazine. The resort is the only AAA Four-Diamond lodging and dining combination in Lake Placid, and it officially extended its long-running designation as the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa for the 35th consecutive year. The View Restaurant at The Inn collected the same award for the 12th-straight year; however, the Inn and the restaurant are not the only medal winners here. Andrew Weibrecht, who is now helping to run the family Inn, is a World Cup alpine ski racer and two-time Olympic medalist. You can actually see his medals as you check-in to this beautiful inn that's situated on the shores of Mirror Lake.
The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort
The Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort is the first resort in the U.S. to receive the Audubon International’s Platinum Eco Rating for hotels. There are now only six hotels in the United States to obtain this honor. This eco-friendly resort is complete with a "Green Team," energy saving guest rooms, a limestone beach, and even a green roof. Winning the Eco rating is an amazing honor and many have chosen this resort for this purpose alone. This is not the only award that this gem on the lake has earned. Many brides and grooms have said "I do" here because of the outstanding service of this family and their staff. In 2019 "The Knot" awarded the resort the "Best of Weddings" award. "Wedding Wire" also recognized the lakeside resort, presenting it with the "Couples Choice Award" in 2019.
The Crowne Plaza
Sitting proud at the top of the hill overlooking Main Street is The Crowne Plaza, part of The Lake Placid Club. This resort is complete with restaurants, stunning views, a gorgeous swimming pool, and two golf courses. The resort has been recognized in The Knot's "Best of Weddings Hall of Fame." This means newlyweds voted it the best four or more times. They have consistently won this award since 2016. In the hotel lobby you can view the stunning plaques, along with bride and groom photos and their stories.
The High Peaks Resort
Recently named one of the "7 Most Beautiful Hotels in the Adirondacks" by Architectural Digest, the Lake House at the High Peaks Resort is "fusing vintage spirit with modern vigor in downtown Lake Placid." The resort property has three unique experiences ready to please you — there are four swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), restaurants, bars, and more. This beautiful Adirondack hotel sits right on Main Street and is close to everything.
Lake Placid Lodge
Looking for more beautiful hotels? The Lake Placid Lodge was named in this Architectural Digest issue as well. The Lodge sits on a lakeside plot where an original cabin stood as early as 1882. This award winning hotel has been mentioned in Men's Journal, Vogue.com, and the 2018 and 2019 Reader's Choice Awards by Condé Nast Traveler. Need a little romance? Jetsetter.com named the Lake Placid Lodge as one of the "Most Romantic Hotels in the U.S." Grab a cocktail and sit in Maggies Pub for a romantic night or a fun night with friends.
Small Batches Make for Big Awards
It almost feels like we are bragging here, and that is OK, we should be. There are still many more awards in Lake Placid. There are award winning Olympic athletes, chefs, and breweries here as well. If you feel like venturing out of your beautiful hotel stop by the Great Adirondack Brewing Company for their prestigious World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival Award winner. Whiteface Stout has won this honor multiple times. Look for the awards as you head in their front door; the brewer is usually right at the restaurant so make sure to say hello and congratulations.
Down the road, you can go enjoy an UBU Ale at The Lake Placid Pub and Brewery, one of the gold medal winners in the World Beer Awards. The newest addition to the brewing medal winners is Giant IPA from Big Slide Brewery and Public House, winning a gold medal as the best double IPA in New York state. This award was so big they had to put in an extra brew kettle just for this beer. When you visit, the kettle that Giant IPA is brewed in is the big one in the corner.
Lake Placid, the Olympics, the resorts, and the beauty. We win more than gold medals here, we win your hearts.
